Ingredients:

1 egg
1 cup Steen's Pure Cane Syrup
2 tbsps sugar
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsps vanilla
1/4 tsps baking soda
1/3 cup salad oil
½ cup milk
1 ½ cups flour, measured after sifting

Instructions:

Combine all dry ingredients except sugar. Beat egg and sugar until creamy. Add syrup, mix well, add oil, mix. Add dry ingredients, beat 100 stokes or 3 minutes with mixer at moderate speed; add milk and vanilla. Mix. Do not over beat. Pour in pan or layers. Cook at 375 degrees.
